my dreamLast night I had a most fantastic dream. In my dream I found myself in a dark place then I saw a little "man" not sure4 if he was a man. He was chained to his place where he stood. Then I looked to my left and I saw what looked like a prison. And then I looked to my right and then I saw what looked like a beautiful mansion. I was a bit confused. I walked over to the man and asked him where I was, and he told me that I was in between Heaven and Hell. He told me that my job was to save as many people as I could from the lake of fire. He told me that I must share what I knower of the messiah to the people in the prison that they might believe. When I went into the prison there were many people, more than I could count and then I saw people in there that I knew and I told them that they need to accept Yeshua as their messiah. I told them of all that He had done on the earth when He was here. I told them of the miracles that He had performed and I also told them that He was in the very beginning at the creation of the world. Many did not listen and turned their backs say that it was a bunch of religious tripe. But there were some that were interested in hearing more and I told them how Yeshua did have 12 disciples and that He taught them all that He could, how they are to act and that they are to become fishers of men. That he healed those who were sick and also taught to the people what His Father had taught to Moses. Then there came a knock at the door it was the man and he handed me a bag and it had some change in it and other items. I took it and then I continued to tell the people about how messiah fed 500 people with just 2 fishes and 5 loaves and how He turned water into wine and how many people followed him and how that a woman who had constant bleeding just reached out and touched his fringe of his cloak and she was healed. Then how messiah died on a cross and promised that the comforter would come to help us. I kept telling the people all these things and some wept and accepted Yeshua as their messiah. Then there was another knock and it was the man again and he told me that my time was up and asked me that I bring out those who believed .....then my dream ended. I am not sure how many accepted Yeshua. But my feeling is that we have but one chance on this earth to be an example of Yeshua and to share God's message with all that we can. We were called to be fishers of men. We are to share the whole council of God. This is not easy but people need to know before it is too late. The keyThe
key This morning my wife and I lost the key to the car, we looked and looked for it and could not find it. The thing is that we have no other key that would do the job, starting the car. That is so much how it is in this life, there is no other "key" to salvation but through the one and only Yeshua. He is the salvation for the world if the people would accept Him.
It is so plainly said even in Revelations 1:17-18 -When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid, I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades." There it is He (Yeshua) has the keys to death and Hades that if we are to believe in Him we will not see either of these. What a blessing! My savior can save me from these awful things.
People are always looking for another key, another gospel (message) but in the end there is only one. We are told in Galatians that we are not to accept another message. In Galatians 1: 6-10 - " I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by th grace of Messiah, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the message of Messiah. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a message contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a message contrary to what you have received, he is to be accursed! For am I now seeking the favor of me, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond servant of Messiah." So warning is given to us that there is only ONE message or should I say key? We are not to lose this Key or try to find another, which will not work. Divination versus SymbolismDivination versus Symbolism
I feel the need to make a difference as to what is divination and what is symbolism. They are said to be the same thing in certain crowds, but I know for a fact that they are not.
Symbolism: The practice of representing things by symbols, or of investing things with a symbolic meaning or character; the use of any of certain special figures or marks of identification to signify a religious message or divine being, as the cross for Christ and the Christian faith.
Divination: the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge by occult or supernatural means; the act of divining; a foreseeing or foretelling of future events; the pretended art discovering secret or future by preternatural means. (Contents from dictionary.com)
Here there is a clear-cut difference as to what symbolism is and what divination is. Symbolism is a practice of representation whereas divination is the practice of attempting to foretell. I see the validity in symbolism, it is very much like street signs, yellow symbolizes caution whereas red means stop. A curve on a sign usually means there is a curve in the road. Then there is divination that is trying to tell you what your future is going to be by things that have no affect on your life, like the stars.
But being who I am I go to a source that is greater than you or I, I go to God and what he has to say. “There shall not be found among you any one that . . . useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter. --Deut. xviii. 10.” God does not want us to use divination for it is a way of trying to know what He knows without trusting in Him. It is much like Babel, the tower that was built, trying to out maneuver God,
Gen 11:3-9; “And they said one to another, come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. And they said, come, let us build us a city, and a tower, whose top may reach to heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we should be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men were building. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it is called Babel, because the LORD there confounded the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. “
Whereas there is a prime example of symbolism, I quote from the book Moments with the Mishkan by Lawrence Duff Forbes, pg. 12.
“Here is eloquent, consistent and comforting symbolism indeed! Let us remember that whereas the symbolism of pagan nations was cosmical, and therefore idolatrous, the symbolism of Israel was spiritual and Divine and even dimensions had meaning. Surely if the white tends to strike us with awe, the silver, the copper, and the twice-presented figure "5" should fill us with gladness, for the symbolism of all these combine to teach us the precious lessons of spiritual redemption. Five is a spiritual number possessing the thought of redemption through grace, five shekels being the redemption money for the first born and silver being the symbol of atonement whilst, as we shall see in messages immediately following, copper or brass, is the symbol of judgment vicariously borne.”
So it is plainly seen that God himself uses symbolism to make certain points, He does not predict our futures but rather points the way like a road sign. Telling us what speed we should go and if we should stop or yield. I would rather be pointed the way than to end up like the people who tried to make a tower to heaven and fall into confusion, (Babel). I would rather be guided by the creator of all than to try and find my own way in all this muck we live in today.
The role of a husbandWHAT IS THE ROLE OF A HUSBAND?
I often wonder about this, I wonder if there should be more control on my part, or should I let the wife do what she will. I am not too sure; maybe I am still just a youth. Maybe I am still drinking the milk and not eating solid food yet. Maybe. But what does the Bible have to say about this touchy subject?
Let me start at the beginning where it says in Genesis 2:23 “And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man. 24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” In this first instance of man and woman, I do see that the husband is to cleave unto his wife, i.e. not leave her. For if he leaves her will split that “one flesh”. How terrible of an idea, like cutting one’s self, such pain! I find doing something like that is detestable
But we are to be pleased with our wives, as it says in Proverbs 5:15-19 “Drink water out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountain be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.” In this picture that is painted, I see that this wife that husbands cling to is something of great beauty and something that is not to be shared. Indeed we are to keep to ourselves. For we in a sacred bond that is meant for life. We are not to wander with strangers and mix with strange streams.
More so we are to “Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labor which thou takest under the sun. “ –Ecc. 9:9 I know that when we take a wife that means that love her all the days of our life. Not just when I want to or when I “feel” like it. But always, but love is not a feeling, it is an action, labor. I do not mean this to be demeaning, but rather it is to be a joyful labor, a labor of love.
Husbands we are called to give benevolence to our wives, to be gracious to them, they are ours to cherish. I think this is a key point to being a husband. As it says in 1 Cor. 7:3-5 “Let the husband render to the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife to the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan may not tempt you for your incontinence.” We see that this is an action that is to be reciprocated by the wife. Defraud here is also likened to deny. We are not to deny one another, physically, emotionally, spiritually, except for prayer and fasting, by which we may grow stronger in our Father.
I do have to say something about spouses that are unbelievers and what Yeshua has to say about such (through Paul), it is again in 1 Corinthians 7:14-16 “ But to the rest I speak, not the Lord, if any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she is pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman who hath a husband that believeth not, and if he is pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the wife sanctifies the unbelieving husband, and the husband sanctifies the unbelieving wife: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases; but God hath called us to peace. For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? Or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?” In this you see that it is not only the husband and wife that are impacted, but also the children if there be any. But the point is made that “God has called us to peace.” We are to put our lives in His hands and if we trust in Him he will work it to His good.
Our Father gave us our places in this life, He has set an order which is best worked under his plan, as in 1 Cor. 11:3 “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” We see here that God is the head of all, all must answer to Him, Messiah answers to God, Husbands we answer to Messiah, and Wives answer to the Husbands. It is simple enough, but how often is that position changed all about? All too often which shows me the answer to my initial question, where do the husbands lie? Ultimately we must answer to God and follow his plan, to love our wives, to cling to them, to take joy in them. We are not put away our wives even if they are unbelievers and that we are the head of them. That does not mean that we should abuse our position, but follow it as our Father tells us to.
Yeshua the MessiahIs Yeshua the Messiah? Yes!Here is why....
